By the way, love the wrist guards. Had some bad ice at windham last weekend and they worked great! Plus, unlike regular wristguards, you can actually pick up things with these on.

Hi Lauren,

Thanks for the quick and positive response. My daughter won't be snowboarding again this season as she lives in London and this was her first try at snowboarding.

She did pretty well and got up the first day and was trying easy blues by the fifth day. She said that without all the protective clothing I bought her (.., Azzpadz, Flexmeter gloves and a helmet) she would have given up at the end of the second day because she was so sore even with all the protection. She also had some serious head bangs so the helmet was critical.

If I had not read your website I would not have bought her this gear.

Hi Lauren,
I wanted to email you and add my testimonial to the huge list of positive feedback already on your site. Since receiving them, I have certainly put my Flexmeter gloves through their paces.
While riding last weekend, I accidentally caught my front edge, fell forward at full speed and landed on my left palm hard. Hard enough to hyperextend through the plastic splint and sprain my wrist. I shiver to think what would have happened without my Flexmeters on.
I am absolutely convinced they saved me from a very painful and detrimental break. I cannot stress how lucky I feel to have been wearing Flexmeter wrist protection; I was spared! Everyone who rides should wear wrist protection and if you ask me Flexmeter is the best in the business.

My son used the Flexmeter wrist guards while playing
football( middle linebacker) after getting buckle
fractures on both wrists during middle school football
season.
They worked great. He played three games at the end of
the season with no additional wrist injuries.

The Flexmeters work great.
I fell 6 feet onto my wrists dropping into the pool i've been skating and i felt them dissipate the shock. So they do seem to work. Can't wait to try my luck snowboarding with them. (Flexmeters.com)

The Wrist Guards arrived today in the post - PERFECT!!!!!
They fit great and I can't believe how much support they give! Can't wait to try them out - hopefully heading to the indoor snow dome on Friday morning :o)

I've got my wife wearing one of them, while we wash her removable arm splint to help her broken wrist and stop her moving around while her own splint dries. I actually think the Flexmeter is better than her own splint!!!!

"As a physician, I am always looking for ways to make my own sons sports activities safer.

After reading of the origin of Flexmeter in the New York Times, it didn't take long for me to order them. Now both of my kids have worn them as their sole snowboarding glove for the past four years.

These gloves are something my boys will wear without reminding. They find them warm and comfortable. I find them a simple safety aid. As beginners the benefit of the Flexmeter was for multiple off-balance falls. Now that the that they are more experienced boarders and ride at high speed, velocity and force of impact for even rare falls are the worry.

Sadly, people don't realize the true anguish of a wrist or forearm injury. The pain, time lost, and ‘overall’ cost of these injuries can be shocking. In my medical practice I care for patients every year, who need weeks of recovery or surgery for fractures that this product can help minimize or prevent. I would estimate the cost of a wrist injury at $10,000 or more, with medical care, rehab, and lost income figured in."

While the initial cost of Flexmeter is a bit higher than some products, the benefits of reducing or preventing this type of injury is worth it. I buy this product at retail prices without any financial backing from the manufacturer or distributor."

As a beginner snowboarder, your data on wrist injuries, protection with your glove/wrist guards, and lack of protection with rollerblading wrist guards (which is what I wore last year) is extremely interesting and well presented on your website.

After using your wrist protection gloves, I feel that they are truly excellent, and I have a comfort level with continuing to snowboard and not risking major injury.

I am a physician involved for many years with trauma surgery. When I changed from many years of skiing to the new sport for me of snowboarding, I researched the potential dangers in great detail, especially the Canadian data. I feel so much safer using your Flexmeter device. A wrist fracture is not something I need in my line of work. Clearly the risk is much lower using the Flexmeter, and the competing splints I have seen at ski shops are a waste in comparison.
The only problem is that using the Flexmeter obviously caused me to ride more aggressively, but that is so much fun. You can just feel the force in the Flexmeter, supporting the wrist and hand, when you take a radical fall. Thanks for making this available in the U.S. I insist on my children using them as well.

What a great surprise for you to check in on me. {after pre-Flexmeter mountain biking accident.} I'm back in the saddle again. I'm 95% recovered and wearing my Flexmeter wrist guards religiously. Thankfully, I have not tested their efficacy. I've been recommending them to everyone, though. Now that I have them, I may take up snowboarding this winter. I loved your recommendations on protective gear - I can't tell you how many times I was told that "falling will toughen you up". Maybe when I was 16 - many, many moons ago - but now it just leaves me bruised and battered. Thank you for bringing proper perspective on this - lack of proper padding would have finished me before I had even given snowboarding a chance! That article alone convinced me that this was a site worth reading "cover to cover" so to speak.

1) You took my call after business hours to answer my questions.
2) You shipped my order w/in 1 business day.
3) My order arrived in Singapore, by regular mail, 5 business days later.
4) The quality of the flexmeter wrist guard is excellent and it is very durable.

My broken wrist was still in a cast when I ordered the wrist flexmeter guard from you. I needed it specifically for a vacation I was taking with my family. We went to Phuket, Thailand, two weeks after the cast came off. I used the brace while canoeing, jet-skiing, horse-back riding, body surfing, boogie boarding, and most risky of all... playing with my two kids. Since then I've worn it while swimming laps and jungle running here in Singapore.

P.S. If you recall, I am a large man with a small frame. The large size is a good snug fit on me. I'm glad you told me not to go with the medium. The medium would have been too small.

I found your site while looking for snowboard gloves with wrist guard inserts. I had a freak accident two years ago and broke both my wrists on an ice patch. After 8 weeks of casts and 2 months of physical therapy I decided to get back on my board and hit the slopes. Been using rollerblading gloves since then but I've been looking for a better option.
