Q. Is this a bad idea????

Lauren,

I recently spent a day at a ski resort hanging out with some friends. Some who skied and some who didn't. I watched a lot of people snowboarding, and really wanted to give it a try. I suck when it comes to skiing. Is it a given I will suck at snowboarding as well? Also I am a big guy 6'3". Do you have any beginner tips for finding my center of gravity when trying to board???

Thanks for the help.

Chad P.

A. Hey Chad, I sucked when I skiied. Danny Kass sucked when he skiied! Some of us are just meant to go sideways!
My husband is 6'3 and he snowboards better and better.
My advice to you is the same as what I tell him. BEND YOUR KNEES!
Before you get on the slopes start building up your quads, by practicing the position and bending your knees. You'll need strength!
You can do it!!!
Let me know.
Wear padding, or be in pain. Read "You Don't Have to Hurt Yourself to Snowboard" at

Good luck!
Lauren
