ICER AIR Urban Big Air Contest held September 27, 2005 in
San Francisco
The notoriously steep streets of San Francisco became the site for the
first of its kind "summer urban big-air competition." 10 top snowboarders
and 10 top skiers competed for over $100,000 in prizes on a beautiful sunny
80 degree day, for a crowd of over 10,000 spectators. 200 tons of snow was
trucked in and packed over the jump on Fillmore street. Riders covered 80
feet, flying 15 feet above the ground. Sponsors included waxmaker ICER Sport
and Jeep.
The event was originally scheduled for Aug. 27, but postponed at the last
minute due to complaints from the neighbors of the residential neighborhood
where it was to go off. A wedding was planned in Pacific Heights for that
day.

ICER is a ski and snowboard
products company that first entered the marketplace by introducing a
pocket sized spray-on liquid wax for skis and snowboards. Building on
the success of the ski and snowboard product lines, ICER plans to expand
and roll out products for sailing, surfing, wakeboarding, water-skiing,
skateboarding and biking. ICER AIR 2005 is the first of many urban
sports events that ICER hopes to bring to major metropolitan cities
nationwide. More about the contest at
